A Niger Activist, Comrade Austin Ozobo has stated that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Babachir Lawal should be called to order over alleged inflammatory and inciting comments against Christians in Nigeria.
Ozobo made the assertion in Warri on Wednesday following comments allegedly made by Lawal that Christians were fueling rumors about the health of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Ozobo, who is also the President of Ijaw National Development Initiative (IPDI) noted that Christians were praying fervently for the quick recovery of President Buhari.
Ozobo stated that the comments of the SGF was his individual opinion.
He described the said comments by the SGF as “spurious” and “inciting”, stressing that such comments were capable of throwing the nation into full blown war.
“The Secretary to the Government of the Federation should be called to order because what he is saying is inflammatory.”
“It could cause commotion. It could cause in-fighting. It could cause other problems in the country. He should be called to order. This is trying to give the Christians bad names.”
“The allegation is unfounded, it is uncalled for. It means that they have hidden agenda to blackmail the Christians and cause religious crisis.”
